Not an actual type of bee this time, but two of John's favourite non bees and like any domesticated animal, they play a very important role in the lives of their humans!
The Mysterious Cat Pulling The Strings
Meet Panda! Who knew so much anger could be compressed into a 7 pound cat? This monochrome ball of furry fury was adopted when her previous rescuer was transferred out of province. Prior to that she spent ten years in a no kill shelter.
Yeah...you read that right. Ten years in the pen. Did wonders for her attitude. Being a softy, I couldn't let her go back to that, so now she allows me to live with her in my house.
The Odd Couple: Panda's Roommate
This is Lena. I'm not one to favor purebreds, but this cutie desperately needed new people and since older larger dogs usually are hard to home, she was facing a pretty bleak end.
Lena is a Tennessee Treeing Brindle. ( Say THAT quickly three times....) Her favorite hobbies are stealing cat food, and ripping my shoulder out of its socket when spotting squirrels on walks. She's magnificent.
Who's This Then!
This is Bodie the dog. Last year Steinbach and Area Animal Rescue (SAAR) found this dog in a very weakened and precarious state, and they covered his hefty medical expenses so that he could eventually find a great new abode with a wonderful adoptive family. A huge huge (HUGE!) shoutout to them and to Craig Street Cats for all the important work they and the many other rescues across the province are doing every day! β€οΈThe Contest π
