Caramel Pecan Bars

Crust Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 egg

Filling Ingredients

  • 3 cups pecan halves
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup delicious Manitoba honey
  • 3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Combine crust ingredients.
  2. Press evenly into a 15 x 10 x 3/4 inch jelly roll pan.
  3. Bake at 350Β°F for 15 minutes.
  4. Place pecans, right side up over the finished crust.
  5. In a large heavy saucepan, melt butter and honey; add brown sugar.
  6. Boil for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly, until a rich caramel color.
  7. Remove from heat; stir in cream. Mix well and pour over pecans.
  8. Bake 15 minutes longer, cool, then cut into bars.
