Extra Hearty Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 2 cups cracked wheat
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup Cream of Wheat
  • 2 tsp wheat germ
  • 1 1/8 cups whole wheat flour
  • 15-20 cups white flour
  • 8 cups water

Instructions

  1. Measure sugar and warm water into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle yeast over water and let stand until dissolved.
  3. Combine the next 8 ingredients and mix well.
  4. Stir remaining ingredients into yeast mixture.
  5. Add flour mixture and knead into a ball.
  6. Place dough into a large greased bowl and cover.
  7. Let rise until doubled in size.
  8. Punch down and cut into 8 sections.
  9. Form sections into loaves and let rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Put in pans and let rise until doubled.
  11. Bake at 400Β°F for 30 minutes and 30 minutes more at 350Β°F.
