Honey Spiced Raisin Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1 cup seedless raisins

Instructions

  1. Stir together the first 8 ingredients, reserving a little of the measured flour to dust raisins.
  2. Cream shortening; gradually add brown sugar, beating between additions.
  3. Stir in honey and eggs.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Fold in floured raisins.
  6. Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch tube pan. Bake at 350Β°F for 50-60 minutes.

I’m just curious – this recipe is called β€œHoney Plum Cake”, but there aren’t any plums in the ingredients.
